Kaleidoscope Night Music Series Launches 17th Season with Ambitious Programme, New Partnerships, and Season-Opening Concert at Bello Bar

Dublin, Ireland – February 2026 — Kaleidoscope Night Music Series returns for its 17th season this February, opening a new year with an exciting programme of commissions, premieres, collaborations, and performances from some of Ireland’s most compelling musicians alongside international artists.

This year, Kaleidoscope Night is delighted to announce composer Sam Perkin as its Featured Artist for the 2026 season. Perkin’s work will be presented throughout the year, including a guest-curated concert in October and the world premiere of a newly commissioned Kaleidoscope Night work at the December concert.

New for 2026, Kaleidoscope Night is proud to be in partnership with the Irish Baroque Orchestra (IBO), welcoming IBO ensembles to perform across selected concerts during the season.

The organisation also announces the second season of the Killiney Sounds Music Series, presented in partnership with the Killiney Village Residents Association and supported by Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council. Four Sunday afternoon concerts will take place in Killiney Village on 1 February, 1 March, 26 April, and 24 May, combining outstanding music with a relaxed community atmosphere.

In addition, Kaleidoscope Night will release new music in early 2026, including the commissioned work by Michelle O’Rourke and Barry O’Halpin, who were featured artists in 2024. The release will be available on Bandcamp and YouTube.

Season Opening Concert – Wednesday 4th February 2026

The opening concert brings together a diverse and adventurous programme. Kaleidoscope Night welcomes back Aoife Ní Bhriain and Cormac McCarthy, performing music from their acclaimed debut album Cosán Casta. The album reimagines Irish traditional music through original compositions, archival reinterpretations, and influences from classical and jazz traditions, reflecting the musical language both artists grew up with.

Ní Bhriain and McCarthy will also present a Kaleidoscope Night-commissioned work, receiving its world premiere during the evening.

Making her Kaleidoscope Night debut, Libyan-born singer Farah Elle, performing new original material from her latest album FATIMA, alongside newly written songs.

US-born cellist George Crotty will perform new solo works for cello and electronics, incorporating field recordings gathered during outdoor improvisations in remote regions of the Colombian Andes and the Canadian Rockies.

Returning to Kaleidoscope Night are Izumi Kimura and Marco Colonna, whose duo blends composition and improvisation with a highly intuitive approach. Their debut album Save Every Voice will be released by Fundacja Słuchaj in Autumn 2026.

The programme will also feature premieres of new piano preludes by Sam Perkin, performed by Izumi Kimura and Cormac McCarthy, drawn from Perkin’s ongoing project 12 Preludes.
