Kaleidscope Night, November edition…

This November, Kaleidoscope Night invites audiences to an unmissable evening of musical exploration and emotional depth on Wednesday, November 5th at the always-intimate Bello Bar, Dublin.

We are delighted to welcome back celebrated Irish mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty, who will perform David Lang’s stark and stunning Death Speaks — a modern meditation on mortality featuring a powerhouse ensemble: David Adams (piano), Larissa O’Grady (violin), and Barry O’Halpin (electric guitar). Lang’s setting of texts drawn from Schubert songs offers a chillingly beautiful encounter with death as a gentle, ever-present voice. Sharon was one of our featured artists

The night also features the dazzling virtuosity of pianist Lance Coburn, performing George Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue. Bursting with jazz-inflected energy, sweeping lyricism, and rhythmic drive, this cornerstone of 20th-century music promises to raise the roof of Bello Bar.

In a very special addition, Niall Breslin (a.k.a. Bressie) will present an extract from his compelling new body of work, The Place That’s Never Been Wounded. Known for his artistic versatility and advocacy for mental health, Breslin's new work delves into themes of trauma, resilience, and healing through a rich multimedia and musical lens. For the this performance, Niall will be joined by the Kaleidoscope string quartet; Deirdre Reddy (violin), Aoife Durnin (viola), Lioba Petrie (cello) and Mary Barnecutt (cello)
