Kaleidoscope Night - Music For The Curious Ear…

Taking its name (and power) from the goddess of Ireland, the Banbha Quartet founded in 2020, make their first appearance on the Kaleidoscope stage this December with a mixed programme of classical and contemporary repertoire including a work form Ukrainan composer Valentin Silvestrov, his prayer like work “Ikon”.

Xenia Pestova Bennett will also perform on our stage for the first time, bringing us her intriguing programme for toy piano bursting with Irish contemporary music. This will include a new work by Ed Bennet who will introduce his piece on the night.

Stephen James Smith is a Dublin poet and playwright central to the rise of the vibrant spoken word scene in Ireland today.  To date, his poetry videos have amassed over 4 million views online. Stephen will be joined by Kaleidoscope’s Lioba Petrie to accompany him for a selection of his poems.

Niwel Tsumbu will bring our 13th season to a close with his original Congolese charm. Since arriving in Ireland in 2004, Niwel has developed an enviable reputation as a masterfully elegant and fluent guitarist, vocalist, musician, collaborator and composer.

An evening not to be missed!
